under major reconstruction....
It's been a long time but I've decided to give my blog a face lift and start up again. I have so many ideas running through my head that I want to document so here I go again. I'm trying to learn HTML, templates and adding the things I want in my blog so it may look weird for awhile, but eventually I'll have it to my liking:) Till than.......

Happy 1st Birthday
It was Trey's birthday yesterday!! Can't believe it's already been a year. I made a little video of memories from his first year. Hopefully someday he'll enjoy watching it:) He's such a happy and fun little boy, we're so lucky to have him!! Gotta love the first picture huh:) hahaha

RECAP
It's pretty bad when you go to type your own blog address in the search engine and it doesn't even come up so you have to type in the full address. That is when you know that it has been way to long since you've blogged let alone even looked at your own blog. And that is me and why I've finally decided that it is definitely time to update:) I've decided I'm what I would call a binge blogger. When I do decide to update it all comes at once. So get ready for a big purge:) haha Sorry that's probably gross!
To start off a few pictures of our Summer 2009...
There is nothing better than a trip to the mountains. One of my favorite things about Utah!! We saw a moose while we were at Silver Lake (I'm pretty sure that's what the place is called). Anyway it is known for moose sightings. We're 2 for 3 for our luck on sightings. Mike had to take the picture because I was pretty far away claiming I had to protect Trey, but really moose are as scary as bears to me! I've heard one to many stories!!

Trip to Reno and Lake Tahoe. What a beautiful place! I love it there!

A few girl nights is always a must:) I look forward to the get togethers every month!!!

St. George trip

This picture reminds me of the insurance commercial where the teenager is in all his floaty devices and his dad is encouraging him to be careful but jumb in the pool. Hahaha You can never be to careful right:)
I love this picture, on our way home from St. George we were stuck in a traffic jam and these horses were just hanging out the window enjoying the ride, probably wondering what the heck was going on!! Hahaha
Trey's favorite thing to do over the summer has been to empty every cupboard he can get into. The tupperware used to be his favorite but he's moved on to spatulas, measuring cups, and many other things! I can't believe how busy he keeps me.

He thought closing the door on me was so funny. It's amazing how much joy I get out of the little things in life now that he's around:)
It's photo shoot time....
Cute pictures in the back yard. Trey's getting used to the camera, but I still have to work hard to capture anything (smiles, no smiles and mad faces:) I'm usually ready to toss the camera within 5 min. I'll break him in someday:)

Happy Halloween

This pathetic little pumpkin came from our garden (note to self plant them earlier next year). But it was the perfect size for Trey and by the time he was done "playing" with it well lets just say it didn't look very pretty. Poor pumpkin!!
And then the pumpkins from the store.....

Mike and I decided instead of taking Trey out trick-or-treating we would stay home and have our own little Halloween party. Well we probably should have realized that since we hardly got any trick-or-treaters last year that this year would probably be the same. But that fact hardly crossed our minds and we set out to be the funnest stop on the block. We got all dressed up, made hot cider, had our candy all ready and as you can see set up our little station. And you can probably guess what happened, we were out there for about 2 hours and maybe had 20 little ones stop by. So by 8 we were cleaned up and back inside. Hahaha, sad!! Maybe next year we'll think twice:)

Born March 28, 2009

I was able to go up and visit 2 days after Brady was born. Our little photo shoot took about 2 hours with lots of crying and a patient mom helping him to calm down:) haha way to go Amanda! It was either a diaper or no pictures, but we managed to get some cute ones and put them into this cute little announcement!! What a handsome little boy!!!!!

My new neice is finally here! What a precious little girl! We've had 3 new additions to the Petersen family circle in the past 8 months. Trey, Brady, and now Layla. (I'll be posting pics of Brady soon, I'm not on my computer. I've been a slacker on that:)) She is such a good little baby almost always content which wasn't the case with Trey and Brady. Way to go Shaine and Tony!!

It will survive!!!
My garden isn't much, but to me it represents a lot of prep work, planning, planting, tilling, and weeding. So after watching strong winds, hail and rain pound the ground for hours (hail about 5 minutes) you can imagine my devastation when I went to see the aftermath of the storm and found my garden looking like it had just been victim to a BB gun attach. There were holes in all the leaves, and everything that had once looked full of life was now lying limp on the ground. I thought for sure the garden was done and all was lost. I did what I could with the battered leaves and figured I'd let nature do the rest. It was a couple of weeks of looking frail and hanging on for dear life but for the most part everything came through ok.
I now have a whole new appreciation for farmers or those who rely on their crops for their well being/livelyhood. It was all I could think about after I saw my poor garden. How horrible it would be to loose so much and really have no control over the final result. We can only prepare so much!! I'm just thankful that mother nature has decided to be kind since than!! :)
What a little sun and good weather can do....
